The Board of Abatement is the only body authorized to abate any or all of the property taxes assessed by the town. The conditions under which the Board may grant an abatement are regulated by the State, click here for more information.

The Board of Abatement is comprised of the Wallingford Justices of the Peace, the Selectboard, the Lister(s) and the Town Clerk and Treasurer. The Board meets as needed at Town Hall to hear tax abatements.

If you wish to apply for abatement, please fill out this Board of Abatement Request Form and send to: Town Clerk, 75 School Street, Wallingford, VT 05773.
